The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Roger Binny shed light on his two-day visit to Pakistan during a media talk on Wednesday in India.

Binny, along with other BCCI officials including Vice President Rajeev Shukla, Director BCCI Yudhvir Singh and Secretary to Vice President Mohammad Akram, landed in Pakistan on Monday, September 4, where the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) hosted a dinner ceremony for them at the Governor House Lahore.

After returning to India, the BCCI Chief talked to the media and opened up on his visit to Pakistan and how they were treated.

"It was a fantastic experience. Like when we played the Test match in 1984 the same hospitality was given to us," Binny said.

"We were treated like kings over there, so it was an excellent time for us. We were able to meet all the Pakistan officials and the Pakistan Cricket Board. They're very happy with the outcome of us coming there as we were so happy to be there also at the same time."

The BCCI delegation was likely to watch Pakistan's Super Four clash against Bangladesh on Wednesday but they departed for India before that.

It must be noted that the Chairman of the PCB Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, sent an invitation to BCCI officials to come and watch Asia Cup matches in Pakistan.

He believed that the visit of BCCI officials would play a key role in reviving strained cricket relations between the neighbouring countries.

The two heads also held a press conference in Lahore and made a gesture of peace by holding each other's hands.

It has to be mentioned that Pakistan and India have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13, when Pakistan won a three-match ODI series 2-1, due to ongoing political tensions between the two countries.

Other than that, Pakistan also had to propose a hybrid model for the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 because India refused to send their team to their country due to security concerns.
